Geshe Lharampa Lobsang Tenzin la
No introduction to the Menlhai Jamtse Tibetan Buddhist Centre (MJTBC) would be complete without mentioning its founder, Geshe Lharampa Lobsang Tenzin.
Geshe Lharampa Lobsang Tenzin embarked on his Buddhist studies at Sera Jey Monastic University in 1994, where he dedicated himself to Buddhist philosophy. In 2016, he achieved the esteemed Geshe Lharampa degree, equivalent to a PhD in Buddhist Philosophy. Geshe la further expanded his knowledge through participation in various certificate programs with the Emory Tibet Science Initiative, Science leadership and Science meets Dharma, focusing on subjects like Western Philosophy, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Neuroscience. In 2017, he deepened his studies by attending Gyume Tantra College, where he spent a year studying Tantra.
Geshe la moved to Mumbai with the intention of establishing a Buddhist centre. Since then, he has devoted his life to educating the local population in Buddhist philosophy and working to revive the Nalanda Tradition. His work continues to inspire and guide the MJTBC in its mission to promote peace, wisdom, and spiritual growth.
